Every mission has a beginning...some at the end of another

For most of my adult life, my world moved in the shadows, foreign briefings, and operations that never made the news. As a 100% Service Disabled Combat Veteran I served in various support roles of Special Operations communities while working alongside the U.S. military, diplomats, and foreign partners across multiple continents. 

For years my mission was clear: support high-functioning, purpose-built teams, and individual assets operating in the most demanding environments, help them succeed, and bring them home safe with grave consequences for failure.

Then I was injured in a training accident. Medical retirement meant my mission ended overnight - and with it, the purpose which had anchored my identity. The sudden quiet was louder and more stressful than anything I had ever faced. I spent the years following in search of direction, meaning, and a place to rebuild, often to no avail. 

Then I came across a note written by a former boss, "Never forget where you came from" So that's exactly what I did. My family has continuously and actively operated a farm in the piedmont of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia since the year 1896. On that farm there have been generations of work, sweat, and harvest to uphold a quiet commitment to the not-so-simple task of feeding people. Even while overseas - across deserts, jungles, swamps, and mountains - I carried those roots with me. A history rich in agriculture paired with years of intelligence work around the world ultimately pointed me toward a new mission. 

I realized I could take everything I had learned - relationship building, cultural partnership, field-expedient solutions, black-bag ingenuity, critical mission design, program management, and global logistics - and apply it to something important: providing American families access to high-quality, healthy, and diverse food options at an economically sustainable price.

I settled on South America as my initial based of operations. Buenos Aires offered more than just a strategic opportunity. Argentina, with its rich grasslands, ranging mountains, and history of commitment to Lean, Natural, and Quality beef offered the chance to start over and start small, to build something from nothing, and to find purpose in a new hemisphere with the same values I was raised with: work hard, stand by your word, and deliver...and so Sola Lanza Resupply was born.

Sola Lanza Resupply is a company built on Special Operations principles: 

  - Humans are more important than hardware

  - Quality is better than quantity

  - Our employees and reputation cannot be mass produced

  - Competency cannot be created after emergencies occur

  - Our missions require non-special operations support

Sola Lanza Resupply (SLR) takes its name from the Spanish language, meaning "lone spear" and when shortened as "SLR" it pulls from the acronym for a "Self-Loading Rifle." It represents a single, precise instrument moving forward with purpose. In special operations, the spear is more than a weapon, it is a metaphor for the tip of a mission, the first element to make contact. This serves as a symbol of direct action, resolve, and precision delivery. 

Sola Lanza Resupply is lean, adaptive, disciplined, and reliable under pressure. We are a bridge between ranchlands, farmlands, and those hard-to-reach outposts found internationally and the dinner tables of the American family without sacrificing the quality American families respect. It is a new mission, one grounded not in conflict but in connection. 

After years of supporting small teams and lone operators in the harshest environments on Earth, we now bring that same mindset to feeding families, supporting small-businesses, and ensuring the supply chain remains strong, honest, and resilient. 

This isn't just business. It's the continuation of a legacy - and the beginning of a new one.
